Our Great Instructors!

The Chilliwack Community Arts Council takes great strides to ensure a high level of quality and safety with our programs. All instructors working with children must pass a criminal records check, and instructors working with food are required to have up-to-date Food Safe certification.

Sidrah Ahmad
Sidrah is an artist of many mediums. She has taught everything from Henna to how to make Samosas, to crochet and knitting. Often she teaches with her mother Nasrin Ahmad.

Stephanie Brubaker
Stephanie continues to inspire adults and children with her creative classes at the Chilliwack Arts Council’s Art Room. Her interests started in textiles, and have since grown to include mixed-media, acrylic painting, and watercolours. Stephanie’s arts training include CHA trade-show workshops with Faber Castell, Ranger Ink and Donna Downey (instructor for Golden).

Alicia Champ
Artist and designer Alicia Champ draws inspiration from her natural surroundings and her designs are heavily influenced by her many summers enjoying the outdoors as a child. Visit her website

Janet Carroll & Donna Dove
Friends and business partners Janet and Donna have a passion for making and wearing silver and copper jewellery. Through their business Green Pear Designs they create and share affordable, timeless, statement pieces that you will wear again and again.

Pat Gerlach
Pat loves the surprises of painting with watercolour, but she also enjoys experimenting with other mediums such as acrylic, monoprint, and pastel. Besides painting, she has worked with cedar bark baskets and stained glass. Her work is varied and has been shown at Galleries and Museums in B.C. and Alberta.

Darlene Kee
Darlene Kee holds a Bachelor of Education with a specialization in Art and is a certified BC teacher. She has taught young students in a variety of settings and enjoys teaching mixed media art classes to all ages, specializing in kids classes.

Patti Lawn
Patti has been involved in the arts community for over 30 years as an educator, crafter, performer and designer. Her love of all things creative has led her to starting her own line of bath and body products: “Bath Scents”, as well as “Creative Edge”: a collaborative pop-up market. Patti is pleased to share her bath and body product crafting knowledge and, as a former educator, truly enjoys teaching others.

Kim Sherlock
Kim is a professional self-taught artist currently living in Chilliwack B.C.
Before starting her business Kimmikat Kreative Kim worked in an education focused settings. Her teaching style is based on open connections with art and the individual and the projects they create are often situated around nature and the fundamentals of art.

Carla Swope
In 2010 Carla began “Carla Swope Jewels” and has been involved with many communities through juried artisan shows, markets, galleries and teaching workshops. Carla is inspired by the majestic colour and shape combinations found in nature and she strives to bring that natural quality into her designs.
