Who is the Chilliwack Community Arts Council?
We are a local, registered charity that strives to support artists and art enthusiasts in our community. We provide artists with exhibition and sale opportunities, host community events, and give creative minds of all ages the opportunity to learn and grow through creativity! When you sign up for classes, purchase from the Gift Nook, show your work in the Art Room Gallery, and attend our numerous community events, you help to ensure the continuation of Chilliwack Community Arts Council initiatives.
How do I register for a class?
You can register through our online calendar! It’s quick and easy.
In person by visiting our office at #20 -5725 Vedder Rd. Open Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm,
or Visa and MasterCard holders can register by phone. Call 604-769-2787 during our office hours.
REMEMBER: Classes fill QUICKLY and registrations close 3 days before every class to allow our instructors time to organize the materials and information needed for the class. So register early!
Payments must be made to hold your spot.
If you register online, please be sure to check that your payment has gone through and has not been refused or declined.
We believe that for staff and student safety, no one should be on the roads if schools are closed due to snow, or other inclement weather conditions.

How often are classes scheduled?
We schedule classes for 3 month periods (Jan, Feb March etc.)
The programs will be ready for registration 1 month before the start of the newest schedule.
Hint: Trying to get into a class that books up fast? Classes will ALWAYS appear on our online calendar first!
What time should I (or my child) arrive for class?
Please arrive a max. of 10 min. early and no later than the start time of the class. Instruction will begin immediately.
For children, please ensure that they are NOT late. By arriving late it can disrupt the class and distract other children from learning. It’s also not fun for the late child to struggle to catch up with the other kids. 🙁
My child is sick!
Uh oh! For the safety of other children, parents and staff please keep sick children at home where they can rest and get better.
What to wear?
For all age groups it’s important to dress appropriately.
A LOT of our classes are messy! We do have aprons on hand but it’s always good to leave your designer duds at home. Just in case.
So wear something you are comfortable in and don’t mind if it becomes a casualty of the Art Room.
I can't make it to a class, I'll send my friend instead!
We ask all students to please let us know in advance if they are dropping out of a class, especially if you plan on sending someone in your place.
Many of our programs have long waiting lists and we need to give those on that list top priority. If there is no waiting list, it MAY be possible to have your friend sign up but it’s always safer to call ahead and let our office staff know in advance.
Refunds are issued for cancelled courses, or withdrawal from the course due to illness or injury, as certified by a doctor. Refunds will not be made under any other circumstance, nor will credit be issued. There is no refund on membership purchases.
Please remember, the Chilliwack Community Arts Council is a registered charity and we appreciate all the support we receive. 🙂

Say cheese! During classes and workshops you may see our friendly staff taking pictures for promotional materials and our programming archives.This can be helpful for grants and to show the community what we’re up to.

Do you offer private lessons?
No, currently we only provide group classes but you can find private instructors on our Arts Directory!
Staying with Your Child
For toddler classes (ages 3 – 6) such as Kids Get Messy, parents are encouraged to stay for the duration of the class and actively assist their child.
For all other classes, unless stated in the class description, we ask that parents wishing to stay with their child, to please do so in our modest reception space.
In our summer programs we have 20 children and 4 instructors per class. Due to the sheer volume and length of time of these classes, it is NOT recommended that parents stay with their children.
When do you begin your summer classes?
For long childrens classes, will you provide lunch?
In the summer we do provide a small, healthy snack and break time for our students during the longer classes.
During the summer, parents are asked to provide a close-able water bottle labeled with the child’s name. We wouldn’t want any water getting on their (or others’) work!
